Alabama Beauty Camellia is one of the first camellias to bloom in Fall. It blooms profusely with a rosy-red semi-double flowers. Alabama Beauty makes an excellent hedge or privacy screen. Camellias are evergreen shrubs which provide year round structure in your landscape . and color when everything else has stopped blooming. When planting this shrub . dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil . then leave the top of the root ball 1/2 inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil.
